| RETHINK
CHURCH event a huge
success! |
I was standing at the door
of St Paul & St Andrew when the morning
volunteers returned from their RETHINK
mission. I had anticipated that
tired, hungry folk would descend from the buses,
ready to drag home exhausted. To my
surprise, I was greeted with smiles that
stretched beyond their ordinary limits. I
was draw in by happy chatter and extraordinary
energy. The lunch room was filled with
stories about individual people, conversations
repeated, and shared prayers.
I want to
personally thank you for giving your time to
this project. You opened doors today
- some literally - especially you opened the
doors to hundreds of people in Manhattan by
being the connecting church. Together we
experienced a day to remember - we drew
attention to what it would be like to be church
moving among community. We took pride in
the work that United Methodist Churches already
do and we helped begin to get the message
out. It was the first day - the official
launch of a vision of the future of The United
Methodist Church.
SOME GREAT NEWS!
After our RETHINK event, United Methodist
Communications was offered an electronic
billboard in Times Square! Our 30-second
spots will run once every hour beginning July 1
until September 30 during the busy tourist
season.
I hope that you will share

contacted me about organizing events back
home. I am working with UMCom to resource
