People needing help come in and food goes out. A rainy day activity brought over forty people from 9-74 years old into our fellowship hall/food pantry for our first annual Wii Bowling Tournament. I visited Best Buy in Kingston, NY and shared my vision with their manager as I inquired about their community service program. That visit resulted in a team from the store, several TV’s and Wii Game Systems, one of which became the grand prize. Visits to local eateries and requests for sponsorship resulted in 18 prizes valued from $150.00 to $5.00.

With five TVs and game systems, the event and eliminations lasted nearly four hours, most of the participants staying until the final-four playoff. It was rather like David and Goliath as a nine-year-old girl proceeded to defeat three big men in their late twenties. All agreed she was truly the number one bowler and the five dollar registration fee was a great way to support the food pantry.
