On Thursday, March 1, 2012, Maria Beth (Nash) Anderson, daughter of the former local pastor Robert C. Nash, finished her course in faith at the age of 25 years at Unity Hospital in Rochester, New York. She was surrounded by her family. Maria was a youth caseworker for Genesee County Department of Social Services; she loved to travel and do missions work. Her career focus and life’s work was assisting others, especially children.
Maria’s father, the former local pastor Robert C. Nash, served in the New York Conference at Grand Gorge United Methodist Church from 1999 through 2003.
In addition to her parents, Robert C. and Diane Nash of Grand Gorge, New York, she is survived by her husband, Andrew G. Anderson of Alabama, New York; two brothers: Josh Nash of Rochester, New York, Samuel Nash of Grand Gorge, New York and a sister Jennifer (Samuel) Hahn of Pennsylvania. Also surviving her are two uncles and their families; as well as her marital extended family, one niece and two nephews.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Calvary Baptist Church, in Batavia, New York, along with a Memorial Service in honor of her life on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Jefferson United Methodist Church in Jefferson, New York. Interment was at Charlottesville Cemetery in Charlottesville, New York.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Ronald McDonald House, c/o the Maria Anderson Project, 333 Westmoreland Drive, Rochester, New York.
